JOB DESCRIPTION:  Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

RI International’s Evaluation and Treatment Center in Lakewood, WA is a 16-bed facility providing mental health support to residents of Pierce County and the surrounding area.

The Registered Nurse works closely with the psychiatric nurse practitioner, the mental health professional, the resource specialist, and a team of peer support specialists in providing counseling and medication management for up to 16 guests experiencing mental health crises.

Regular duties of the RN focus on medication management, admissions, discharges, therapeutic conversations, and documentation.

Occasional duties may also include faxing prescriptions, bandaging superficial wounds, arranging transfers between facilities, and supporting guests during emotional outbursts.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
• Ability to quickly analyze patient reports from referring hospitals.
• Experience with mental health, emergency department, or substance abuse preferred; but will train the right person.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
• Must successfully complete a Washington State Patrol background investigation.
